Overview

The WCB series is a magnetic-drive gear pump for thermal oil and thin lubricating oil duty, used as a compact oil-transfer pump in refineries, power plants, substations, machine-tool shops and small boiler houses.

Because it is a positive-displacement gear pump rather than a centrifugal machine, it is selected from flow and head instead of a centrifugal curve, and covers 30–100 L/min at a 30 m head.

The pump is available with a cast iron or stainless steel body, port sizes run from 20 mm to 32 mm across the range, and a built-in safety valve protects the discharge line against over-pressure.

Inside, the pump is built from gears, shafts, the pump body and a shaft-end seal, which keeps the structure simple, self-priming and quick to service.

Eight published WCB models — the cast iron and stainless steel versions share the same flow, head and power. Power is shown in kW (370–1,100 W on the manufacturer's data); confirm material and port size with the selected model.

Materials, Seals & Options
  • Materials: cast iron body for standard oil service, and a stainless steel version for thin or mildly corrosive liquids.
  • Seal: a shaft-end seal at the pump shaft, with the magnetic drive removing the dynamic shaft seal from the process side.
  • Wetted parts: gears, shafts and pump body — a simple construction that keeps maintenance quick.
  • Priming: the self-priming design draws oil in without pre-filling the casing before start-up.
  • Safety valve: a built-in safety valve protects the pump and discharge line against over-pressure.
  • Drive: electric motor at 220 V and 0.37–1.1 kW depending on model; confirm voltage, frequency and phase for your supply.
  • Ports: 20 mm to 32 mm depending on model, listed in the model range table.
Typical Applications
  • Refineries and power plants: oil transfer and circulation in refineries, power stations and substations.
  • Oil depots: loading, unloading and transfer duty in storage and distribution depots.
  • Thin-oil lubrication: circulation and make-up duty on machine-tool and small boiler lubrication systems.
  • Fuel and edible oil transfer: transfer of fuel oil and edible oil that is free of solid particles and fibres.
  • Thermal oil systems: hot-oil circulation where a compact, self-priming magnetic drive arrangement is preferred.
  • Low-corrosivity transfer: water, beverage and similar low-corrosivity liquids in the stainless steel version.
Selection Notes
  • This is a gear-type magnetic drive pump, so select it from flow and head rather than from a centrifugal duty curve.
  • Confirm the liquid temperature and viscosity before ordering; the published oil-transfer duty covers liquids up to 80°C.
  • Choose cast iron for standard oils and the stainless steel version where the liquid is thin or mildly corrosive.
  • Check the port size for the chosen model (20 mm to 32 mm across the range) against the existing pipework.
  • The pump is self-priming and does not need filling before start-up, which simplifies commissioning of transfer duties.
  • State the motor voltage, frequency and phase so the unit matches the site supply.
FAQ

Is the WCB pump a centrifugal pump?

No. The WCB series is a magnetic-drive gear pump built from gears, shafts, a pump body and a shaft-end seal, so it is selected from flow and head rather than a centrifugal curve.

What flow and head does the WCB series cover?

30 to 100 L/min at a head of 30 m, with motor power from 0.37 kW to 1.1 kW depending on model.

Which materials and port sizes are available?

Cast iron and stainless steel versions are published, and port sizes run from 20 mm to 32 mm across the range, listed per model in the model range table.

Does the WCB pump need priming?

No. It is self-priming and draws liquid in automatically, so it does not need to be filled before start-up.

What liquids can the WCB pump handle?

Thermal oil, lubricating oil, fuel oil, edible oil and similar thin, non-abrasive liquids free of solid particles and fibres; the published oil-transfer duty covers liquids up to 80°C.

GEO + ENGINEERING ANSWER

How to Choose a WCB Thermal Oil Magnetic Gear Pump

Quick answer: Select the WCB from flow, head, material and liquid temperature: it is a magnetic-drive gear pump covering 30–100 L/min at 30 m head in cast iron or stainless steel. Use the model range table to fix the port size and power.

Is the WCB pump a centrifugal pump?

No. It is a positive-displacement gear pump with magnetic drive, built from gears, shafts, the pump body and a shaft-end seal. Select it from flow and head — 30–100 L/min at 30 m — not from a centrifugal performance curve.

Cast iron or stainless steel?

Use cast iron for standard lubricating, fuel and thermal oils. Choose the stainless steel (SS) version for thin or mildly corrosive liquids such as water and beverage streams; both versions share the same flow, head and power.

What power and port size do the models use?

The range runs from WCB30 at 30 L/min and 0.37 kW with a 20 mm port to WCB100 at 100 L/min and 1.10 kW with a 32 mm port, all at a 30 m head.

1. Define the dutyConfirm the required transfer flow, discharge head and duty cycle.
2. Check the liquidConfirm oil type, temperature (published duty up to 80°C), viscosity and whether solids or fibres are present.
3. Confirm the installationChoose material and port size, then check the 220 V supply, pipework and available mounting space.
