IS Series End-Suction Centrifugal Pump
A single-stage end-suction horizontal pump for clean water and low-viscosity process liquids, covering 6.3-400 m³/h at heads from 5 m to 125 m and temperatures up to 80°C.

The IS series is a single-stage, end-suction horizontal centrifugal pump built for clean water and for liquids whose physical and chemical properties are close to water, at a temperature not exceeding 80°C. It covers 6.3-400 m³/h against heads of 5-125 m, which places it in municipal and industrial water supply, drainage, agricultural irrigation, fire-fighting pressurisation and long-distance transfer duty. The pump body uses a rear-door opening design, so the rotating assembly can be reached without dismantling the suction and discharge pipework. It is driven by an electric motor through a coupling, with a diesel engine alternative where site power is limited, and the shaft seal is supplied as either soft packing or a mechanical seal. Bearings run in an oil-lubricated suspension housing, and the main parts are the pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, sealing ring, shaft sleeve and suspension bearing.

- Municipal water supply: Moves clean water through distribution mains and booster networks.
- Industrial water transfer: Supplies process water in papermaking, metallurgy, electroplating and smelting plants.
- Agricultural irrigation: Draws from canals, reservoirs and wells into irrigation systems.
- Fire-fighting pressurisation: Holds pressure in fire main and sprinkler systems.
- Long-distance conveyance: Transfers water over long runs where the duty point is fixed.
- Food and pharmaceutical water: Handles clean process water in food processing and pharmaceutical plants.
- Select the model from the required duty point - flow and head together - because an end-suction pump is most efficient close to its rated point.
- Compare the listed motor power with the shaft power at your duty; too little margin will overload the motor.
- Keep the pumped liquid inside the published 80°C limit and free of abrasive solids and fibres.
- Check the NPSH available on site against the suction requirement, especially where the suction line is long or the lift is high.
- State voltage, frequency, drive type (motor or diesel) and whether packing or a mechanical seal is preferred.
What flow and head should I specify for an IS series pump?
Give the flow in m³/h and the head in metres at the real duty point rather than the catalogue maximum. The range spans 6.3-400 m³/h and 5-125 m, so most duties land on one of the published models.
Is the IS series suitable for hot or chemically aggressive liquids?
It is not intended for aggressive media. The IS series handles clean water and similar liquids up to 80°C; for corrosive or high-temperature duty choose a chemical or multistage series instead.
Can an IS pump run without a foot valve or priming?
No. The IS series is not self-priming, so it needs a flooded suction or a priming arrangement. Where liquid must be lifted from below the pump, use a self-priming model such as the ZX or ZW series.
What is the IS series centrifugal pump used for?
It handles clean water and low-viscosity liquids in municipal and industrial water supply, drainage, agricultural irrigation, fire-fighting pressurisation and long-distance transfer.
What flow and head does the IS pump cover?
The series covers 6.3-400 m³/h at heads of 5-125 m, with liquid temperatures up to 80°C and speeds of 1450 or 3000 r/min depending on the model.
Which shaft seal does the IS pump use?
Either soft packing or a mechanical seal. The choice is made to suit the liquid and the leakage level acceptable in the installation.
Can the IS pump be driven by a diesel engine?
Yes. The standard arrangement is a motor coupled to the pump shaft, but a diesel engine drive can be supplied where mains power is not available.
What information is needed to quote an IS series pump?
Flow rate, head or discharge pressure, liquid name and temperature, NPSH available, motor voltage and frequency, drive type and seal preference.

How to Choose the Right IS Series End-Suction Centrifugal Pump
Quick answer: The IS Series End-Suction Centrifugal Pump covers flow 6.3-400 m³/h, heads of 5-125 m. Selection starts from the duty point - flow, head, liquid properties and available NPSH - rather than from the catalogue maxima.
