Chemical Pump Range: Matching Materials to the Liquid
A chemical pump is only as good as the materials that touch the fluid. The range is built around that idea: six series span stainless steel, fluoroplastic-lined and self-priming constructions so the wetted parts can be matched to the actual chemistry rather than to a generic specification. The series cover corrosive acids, alkalis and other aggressive chemical media, with IH stainless steel, IHF fluoroplastic-lined and IHG, AFB, FSB and SFBX options.
Series overview
- IH — stainless steel chemical pump for the general corrosive duty range.
- IHF — PTFE-lined chemical pump for aggressive media that attack stainless steel.
- IHG — vertical inline chemical centrifugal pump for space-limited installations.
- AFB — chemical centrifugal pump.
- FSB — horizontal fluoroplastic chemical pump.
- SFBX — self-priming chemical transfer pump for suction-lift duty.
Published performance range
The IH and IHF range is published at 3.5–400 m³/h flow, 4.5–125 m head and a liquid temperature range of -20°C to 100°C. SS304 and SS316L are used for dilute acids and alkalis; PTFE lining is the option for aggressive media.
What decides the choice
- Corrosivity — concentration and temperature together decide whether stainless steel is enough or a lined pump is required.
- Temperature — the published IH / IHF window is -20°C to 100°C.
- Installation — inline, horizontal or self-priming, depending on the tank arrangement.
- Solids and shear sensitivity — crystallising or shear-sensitive media may need a different pump type entirely.

Which series should I use for aggressive acids?
IHF, the PTFE-lined range. Stainless steel such as SS304 or SS316L suits dilute acids and alkalis; aggressive media need the lined construction.
