2BV2 Series Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump
A close-coupled liquid ring vacuum pump for gas and vapour duty, covering 27–110 m³/h with an ultimate vacuum of 33 mbar and motors from 0.81 to 3.85 kW.

The 2BV2 series is a compact liquid ring vacuum pump in which the impeller runs in a ring of service liquid to move gas and vapour without close metal-to-metal clearances. The published range covers 27–110 m³/h of suction capacity at 2840–2880 r/min, with motor ratings from 0.81 to 3.85 kW.
Suction pressure can be pulled down to 33 mbar, which the manufacturer publishes as a vacuum degree of 97 %. A flexible exhaust port is used in the design to prevent over-compression of the gas being handled, so the pump keeps its efficiency across the working range instead of only at one pressure.
The pump is close-coupled to its motor and is published in IP54 protection, with an IP55 explosion-proof build carrying a d II BT4 grade for flammable and explosive areas. Because the ring is formed by the service liquid, the design tolerates vapour and small amounts of liquid carry-over, which suits packaging, plastics, chemical degassing, food processing and vacuum filtration.

- Packaging lines: Provides vacuum for pick-and-place and packaging equipment.
- Plastics processing: Supplies vacuum to forming, degassing and material-handling equipment.
- Chemical degassing: Removes air, gas and vapour from chemical process vessels and reactors.
- Food processing: Draws vacuum for filling, sealing and processing duties in food plants.
- Vacuum filtration: Pulls liquid through filters and filter presses in chemical and mineral processing.
- Sugar and evaporation: Serves as a high-capacity dehydration and evaporation duty in sugar plants.
- Flammable atmospheres: The Ex build with d II BT4 motors handles explosive gases where the area classification requires it.
- Size the pump on suction capacity at the working pressure, not at atmospheric conditions: the 2BV2 range is published as 27–110 m³/h, and the capacity falls as the suction pressure approaches 33 mbar.
- Confirm the service-liquid supply. The published consumption is 2–4.2 L/min, and both the flow and its temperature set the vacuum actually achieved.
- If the pump runs for long periods below 80 mbar suction pressure, the manufacturer states that a cavitation protection tube should be connected.
- Select the Ex build with d II BT4 motors and IP55 protection when the installation area is classified for flammable or explosive gas.
- Check the noise figure against the room: the published values rise from 62 dB on the smallest model to 72 dB on 2BV2 071.
- State the gas composition and any condensable vapour, because corrosion resistance and the sealing arrangement are confirmed against the medium at order stage.
How much vacuum can a 2BV2 pump pull?
The published ultimate vacuum is 33 mbar, which the manufacturer describes as a vacuum degree of 97 % or −0.098 MPa. The suction capacity available at that pressure is lower than the maximum pumping speed quoted in the model table.
Which 2BV2 size do I need?
Match the required suction capacity at the working pressure to the table: 2BV2 060 gives 27 m³/h with a 0.81 kW motor and 2BV2 071 gives 110 m³/h with a 3.85 kW motor, with two steps in between.
Do I need the explosion-proof version?
Only where the installation area is classified. The explosion-proof models, marked Ex, use d II BT4 motors with IP55 protection and are published for pumping explosive gases in flammable and explosive places.
What does the working fluid flow rate mean for my installation?
It is the service liquid consumed to form and maintain the liquid ring, published at 2–4.2 L/min for the 2BV2 range. It has to be supplied continuously and at a temperature low enough to reach the required suction pressure.
What is the ultimate vacuum of the 2BV2 series?
The published ultimate vacuum is 33 mbar, described by the manufacturer as a vacuum degree of 97 %, or −0.098 MPa.
What suction capacity does the 2BV2 range cover?
From 27 to 110 m³/h of maximum pumping speed across four models, 2BV2 060, 061, 070 and 071, each also available in an Ex build.
What motor power does the 2BV2 use?
Standard models use 0.81–3.85 kW motors with IP54 protection; the explosion-proof models use 1.1–4 kW motors with IP55 protection and d II BT4 grade.
Does the 2BV2 pump need a service liquid?
Yes. It is a liquid ring vacuum pump, so the working fluid forms the ring. The published consumption is 2–4.2 L/min and the pump is close-coupled to its motor.
Can the 2BV2 handle corrosive or condensable gas?
The series is published with strong corrosion resistance and stable operation, but the exact build should be confirmed for the specific gas and condensable vapour load before ordering.
