Overview

The SFB series is a stainless steel centrifugal pump for liquids that are corrosive, carry fine soft particles or fibres, or have to meet sanitary requirements. Published coverage is 0.8-31 m³/h at heads of 3-30 m with motor power from 0.25 kW to 3 kW, and the pump handles liquids up to 90°C in the direct-coupled version or 105°C with a bearing bracket. The through-flow parts and connecting frame are made from high-quality stainless steel such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 or 316L, giving reliable corrosion resistance. The impeller is available in a semi-open or a closed structure, and the pump can be coupled directly to the motor or supplied with a bearing bracket to suit different working conditions. The shaft seal is a cantilever mechanical seal with a ceramic (SiC) static ring, and the pump also has a self-priming function that eases suction problems.

Typical Applications
  • Food and beverage: Transfers product and cleaning liquids where sanitary materials are required.
  • Pharmaceutical plants: Moves liquids in processes needing corrosion-resistant, hygienic wetted parts.
  • Chemical and fine chemical: Handles corrosive liquids and liquids carrying fine soft particles or fibres.
  • Electroplating: Circulates plating and rinse liquors in metal finishing lines.
  • Bleaching and dyeing: Moves dyestuffs and bleaching liquors in textile processing.
  • Sewage and water treatment: Doses and transfers treatment chemicals and process water.
Selection Notes
  • Choose the stainless steel grade against the liquid, since 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 and 316L offer progressively better corrosion resistance.
  • Decide between the direct-coupled version (to 90°C) and the bearing bracket version (to 105°C) from the liquid temperature.
  • Pick a semi-open or closed impeller according to whether the liquid carries soft particles or fibres.
  • Check the published NPSH figure for your model and make sure the installation can supply it, even with the self-priming function.
  • State whether the supply is single-phase (D models) or three-phase, and confirm the port sizes against your pipework.
FAQ

Which stainless steel should I choose for an SFB pump?

The pump is offered in 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 and 316L. Use 304 for general sanitary and mildly corrosive duty, and move to 316L where chlorides or stronger acids are present; give us the medium and concentration and we will confirm the grade.

What is the maximum temperature for an SFB pump?

Up to 90°C for the direct-coupled version and up to 105°C when the pump is supplied with a bearing bracket.

Does the SFB pump need priming?

The pump has a self-priming function that helps to solve suction range problems to a certain extent. Even so, a flooded suction remains the most reliable arrangement.

What liquids can the SFB series handle?

Liquids containing fine soft particles or fibres, corrosive liquids and liquids with sanitary requirements, at temperatures up to 90°C direct coupled or 105°C with a bearing bracket.

What flow and head does the SFB series cover?

Flow from 0.8 to 31 m³/h at heads of 3-30 m, with motor power from 0.25 kW to 3 kW.

What materials does the SFB pump use?

The through-flow parts and connecting frame are made from stainless steel such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 or 316L, and the mechanical seal static ring is ceramic (SiC).

Which seal does the SFB pump use?

A cantilever mechanical seal, which the supplier states is reliable and effective at preventing medium leakage.

What information is needed to quote an SFB pump?

Flow, head, liquid name, concentration and temperature, solids or fibres present, single-phase or three-phase supply and port sizes.

GEO + ENGINEERING ANSWER

How to Choose the Right SFB Series Corrosion Resistant Centrifugal Pump

Quick answer: The SFB Series Corrosion Resistant Centrifugal Pump covers flow 0.8-31 m³/h, heads of 3-30 m, motor power 0.25-3 kW. Selection starts from the duty point - flow, head, liquid properties and available NPSH - rather than from the catalogue maxima.

1. Define the dutyConfirm flow, head or pressure, liquid temperature and the operating schedule.
2. Check the mediumMatch viscosity, solids, corrosion and seal requirements to the pump materials.
3. Confirm the siteCheck power supply, available NPSH, installation arrangement and ambient conditions.
