G Series Screw Pump Overview

The G series is a single screw (progressive cavity) pump that carries high-viscosity media and media containing solid particles, abrasive particles and fibres, and can also be used for neutral or corrosive liquids. The published envelope is 0.1–150 m³/h of flow at 0.6–2.4 MPa of pressure head.

A metal rotor turns inside an elastomeric stator, so the medium is pushed forward in sealed cavities rather than thrown by an impeller. That gives a continuous, uniform output with stable pressure and very little stirring, which matters when a shear-sensitive liquid must keep its original composition.

Because the internal sliding speeds are low, particle abrasion of the flow-through components is limited when slurries with small hard particles are pumped, and service life is published as long. Media temperature is published up to 80 °C and the output pressure is usually 0.6 MPa with a head up to 60 m, with the 1.2 MPa stage listed in the model table for higher pressure duties. Common applications are sewage and dirt treatment, chemical, paper, ceramic, exploration and mining, food, cosmetics, brewing and power generation.

Values as published by the manufacturer. The -1 and -2 suffix distinguishes the 0.6 MPa and 1.2 MPa pressure stages of the same size, which use the same flow and connections with a higher motor rating. Maximum fibre length is published from 15 mm on G10 to 80 mm on the larger sizes.

Typical Applications of the G Series
  • Sewage and sludge transfer: Moves raw and thickened sludge in municipal and industrial treatment works.
  • Chemical industry: Transfers viscous chemical media and neutral or corrosive liquids with solids.
  • Paper industry: Handles high-consistency pulp and paper-mill residues.
  • Ceramic industry: Pumps clay slips and abrasive ceramic suspensions.
  • Exploration and mining: Transfers mine slurry and tailings containing hard particles.
  • Food and cosmetics: Moves viscous food and cosmetic products where gentle, low-shear handling is needed.
  • Power generation and brewing: Handles boiler-plant residue and brewing process streams with solids.
G Screw Pump Selection Notes
  1. Read the solids and fibre columns before the flow column, because the largest particle the pump can pass is published from 0.8 mm on the small sizes to 10 mm on G85 and above.
  2. Decide the pressure stage from the system: the -1 model gives 0.6 MPa and the -2 model gives 1.2 MPa at the same flow, so only the motor rating changes for a higher-pressure duty.
  3. Confirm the medium temperature stays within the published 80 °C limit, since the stator elastomer is the temperature-limiting component.
  4. Match the inlet and outlet sizes to the pipework, because the connections step from 25 mm on the small models to 200 mm inlet and 150 mm outlet on G105 and G135.
  5. Use the published 0.6 MPa / 60 m head figure as the normal output pressure and allow for additional pressure staging if the system resistance is higher.
  6. Ask for the inlet hopper option when the medium is thick or poorly flowing, since it is published to keep feeding smooth and to allow pressure-free feed and discharge.
FAQ

What can a G series single screw pump handle?

It is published for high-viscosity media and media containing solid particles, abrasive particles and fibres, and can also be used for neutral or corrosive liquids. Solid size up to 10 mm and fibre length up to 80 mm are published for the larger models.

How do I choose between the -1 and the -2 model of the same size?

They share the flow and the connections but differ in pressure stage: the -1 model is the 0.6 MPa build and the -2 model the 1.2 MPa build, which needs a larger motor. Choose from the pressure your system actually requires.

Why is a single screw pump better than a centrifugal pump for sludge?

The progressive cavity action carries the medium in sealed cavities with a continuous, uniform output and low stirring, so thick, solids-laden and shear-sensitive media move without the blockage and emulsion problems a centrifugal impeller would cause.

What is the output pressure and head of the G series?

The published output pressure is usually 0.6 MPa with a head up to 60 m, and the model table lists a 1.2 MPa stage; the published range extends to 2.4 MPa for higher-pressure duties.

What is the flow range of the G series single screw pump?

From 0.1 to 150 m³/h, with 24 published model variations covering the 0.6 MPa and 1.2 MPa pressure stages.

What pressure and head can the G series develop?

The published output pressure is usually 0.6 MPa with a head up to 60 m; the model table includes a 1.2 MPa stage and the published range extends to 2.4 MPa.

What size of solids and fibres can the pump pass?

Depending on model, solid particles from 0.8 mm to 10 mm and fibres from 15 mm to 80 mm.

What medium temperature does the G series accept?

The published temperature limit is below 80 °C for high-viscosity media containing suspended particles.

Which industries use the G series screw pump?

Sewage and dirt treatment, chemical, paper, ceramic, exploration and mining, food, cosmetics, brewing and power generation, plus pharmaceutical duties on viscous media.
